What is Automated Giving?

An alternate means of Sunday and holiday giving to Church of the Ascension. Instead of weekly envelopes, the ParishPay program will collect monthly contributions from your checking, savings, or credit card account (on the 5th day of each month). There is NO cost to you for using ParishPay.

What are the benefits to you?

You do not have to worry about mailing in your envelope or bringing it to Sunday mass. No more last minute checks to write every week, or worrying about catching-up missed donations when you are on vacation or ill. You are in full control, and can adjust your giving or cancel at any time.

How does ParishPay relate to the use of weekly envelopes?

If you choose to participate in ParishPay, this will replace your weekly envelopes. Each month on the 5th, the funds are deducted from your account and directly credited to Ascension. As you do now, you will receive the same year-end annual report from Ascension for your tax records.

Note from Fr. Joe Galang, Pastor

I am requesting that you join the ParishPay program, and pledge a prayerful and thoughtful monthly gift to Ascension. Our Financial Committee agrees with me that using an automated giving program helps our parish members commit a budgeted amount each month that is deducted from your bank account or credit card. This reflects a new method of giving — one that is available in our diocese and is spreading nationally.

I humbly call for you to include the church in your monthly budget, and allow the Lord to flourish in his bountiful works.

Thank you for your consideration. May God bless you and your family.

What about Holidays? What about Special collections?

If you wish, you can specify your giving level for these when you join ParishPay, or anytime thereafter.

But I like having an envelope to give each Sunday

Special donation slips are available from the parish office that you can drop in the collection basket. Or just use your envelope and write "ParishPay" on the back.

What is the experience with ParishPay?

Many parishes in the San Jose diocese are using ParishPay. Ascension has offered ParishPay for two years with no problems, and those who use it have found it of real benefit and convenience.
